Applications

  • Vertical and directional drilling applications
  • Formations drillable with PDC and diamond impregnated bits
  • Whipstock, cement plugs, and open hole sidetracks
  • HPHT wells
  • Hostile mud conditions
  • Thru-tubing remedial and underbalanced operations in gasified fluids, acidized systems, and high temperatures

Benefits

  • Less rig time with enhanced ROP, even through very hard formations and during sliding
  • More efficient directional drilling because of greater responsiveness and toolface control
  • Fewer trips because of high reliability and extended drive train life
  • Reduced BHA failures and bit wear because of superior vibration characteristics
  • Enhanced wellbore quality and minimal tortuosity over conventional drive systems

Maximum temperature:  500 degF [260 degC]
Run times up to 800 h

High-power turbodrilling efficiency for hard, abrasive formations

Delivering more mechanical drilling power downhole than any other drive system, Neyrfor turbodrilling systems are ideal for drilling in harsh HPHT conditions and in the hardest, most abrasive formations. The systems are designed with a fully concentric drive-train rotation to maintain optimal power while on bottom and to absorb excessive loads for extended periods of time.

The drive system efficiently converts hydraulic energy from the mud column into mechanical energy at the bit to deliver more downhole mechanical drilling power. By rotating the drive shaft at a higher speed while remaining dynamically stable, Neyrfor turbodrilling systems produce unsurpassed ROP without the negative effects of excess torque.

Consistently smooth wellbores in demanding environments

As a result of the high bit rotary speed, Neyrfor systems produce a consistently smooth wellbore. For straight-hole applications, these turbodrilling systems act as natural dropping pendulum assemblies in rotary mode, which produces higher quality wellbores in less time than conventional BHAs. In directional drilling applications, the system's consistent predictable toolface control, along with the use of stabilization, ensures that hole spiraling and microdoglegs are minimized. Toolface control also ensures that directional objectives can be achieved in even the most demanding environments.
